Hole #13
Hole #13 is a 380-yard par 4. A driver or three wood up the right side of the fairway that slopes right to left will avoid a large fairway bunker that comes into play and leaves the player with a short iron to the green. The second shot with a mid-to short-iron plays long to an elevated green that has deep bunkers left and right. This green slopes from right to left and is very fast. Players will favor the left side of the green.
Hole #9 – 1939 U.S. Open
This hole can be called a breather after some of the foregoing difficult holes. A good drive to right center will give you a vantage point for any pin location of the green. The second shot is played with a #8 or strong #9. The green is fairly tricky.
