Spring Mill Hole #5
Hole #5
Hole #5 is a downhill 167-yard par 3 that calls for an accurate short-iron shot. The green is guarded by a pond in front and on the right side. A stream runs behind the green, and bunkers protect it on the left. The green slopes back to front and left to right. A good tee shot should be played to the front-right side of the green. This will leave the player with an uphill putt.
Note: Unfortunately, in 2015 the tree on the left side of the green died and was removed.
Hole #11 – 1939 U.S. Open
This hole can be played with the irons ranging from a #5 to a #9. It is a small semi-island green with water on the front and right hand sides, and sand on the other sides. This shot calls for extreme accuracy.
